Default SS 29r Hoop Recommendations

I should clarify: I'm looking for tubeless ready / capable hoops. I think I would prefer silver to black; they should be disc only...And I'm going to be running them SS with either I-9, Phil Wood, or Chris King hubs.

I have been looking around on the 'net.... and haven't really found a clear winner. I'd love some advice.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Stans Flows or Arches... depends what you're looking for... but either of them on any of those hubs would be great.

I run Arches on my SS and Flows on my FS 29er

Yep, got to recommend the Stan's rims. Using the Arches with a CK hub. I've only burped the front twice in the last 2 years and all I had to do was put some air back in with my handpump. Been able to convert Schawble (thin side walls on some tires) Kenda and Panracer tires (all non UST versions). Use the yellow tape and his valve stem and if you ever have problems just throw a tube in there. Best of both worlds.

I run Stan's Arches. They seem to be pretty good so far...I've definitely been hard on them and they have been reliable.

Another Stan's fan here too. They seal up easily with every tire I've tried.

I am a big fan of the Stans arch rim (what I currently run) however, if you want a more bombproof rim with a wider footprint go with the flow.

I really, really, really, really, really hate it when Burner is right.

Go with the Arches on the SS

Default OK... hoops are settled - Stan's

Thanks everyone. On my 26'r, which I'm selling, I currently run an I-9 wheelset with Stan's hoops. I also have been nothing but happy with the hoops. Now, just to choose between I-9, Phil Wood, or Chris King...

I currently have Chris King and sold my Hadley set (long story).

I like the Hadley better

Another Stans recommendation. I've got Flows on I9's on my single speed and have had no issues. I really like the wider rim for high volume tires on the ss, it allows the tire to be less domed, and flatter, which seems like it allows more contact patch. A 2.1 SB8 on a Flow looks nearly as wide as a 2.25 Nevegal on an Arch. But both are great rims. It took my road bike roots a while to get comfortable with a non-eyeleted rim, but no issues here.

As for hubs, I've had all three, and really prefer the I9's. I just prefer being able to easily do parking lot cog changes, which rules out the Phils, and I have never had a pleasant conversation with King's customer service, they're like a model in how not to treat your customers, while I9 is much easier to deal with, and will actually help you out and not treat you like an idiot.

+1 for Stans. I have Arch 29ers on one SS, and 355's on the other. Hope Pro II SS hubs on both. I love 'em!

Default Ordered the arches!

Getting arches with PW hubs. Thanks for all the input. I have a set of I-9s on a 26" (for sale actually) and they are the ultralights. I kind of hate cleaning them...and, I don't think it is I-9s fault, (and they are replacing them under warranty), but... the bearings went out within 1500 miles. There is something so classy about those PW hubs....

Awesome help. Thanks.

Another vote for Stans. Either Arches or Flows. I have Flows on my SS build. Figured I'd take the extra grams for the "bomb proofness" of them as well as being up to run fattys if i decide to go rigid again.

definently stans.

EDIT: Hahaha, whoops, a little late on this one. Good choice!
