Thank you everyone for your responses and I really appreciate all of your valuable opinions. It just made me realize how much I love this bike. You guys are right...I got to stop thinking that my bike is limiting my abilities and it is up to me to improve on the skills I already have. So I have decided that I will not rush into upgrading at this moment and focus more on my riding.
Gradually, I will upgrade as I see fit.Demo-ing will definately make me more aware of differences between bikes and it'll give me a better idea of my riding style. But I will upgrade the pedals to clipless. I don't like how my feet slips out from under me when I'm riding off little jumps. I will eventually go to a FS but not right now and going SS when I have at least a few years of riding under my belt. And 29er??? That's just cheating (just kidding)Thank you and additional comments are welcome! |

yes your right. 29'er bikes are cheater bikes. Pshh, who needs smoother, when you can improve teqhnique and be just as fast and smooth on a 26'er

Oh and when you decide to get a new bike, make sure you get something with a good frame. I think the frame should be the most important factor in deciding on a new bike. You will always have to buy new components (they break out on the trails) and you can upgrade them to whatever you want later, but the frame will be $$$$$$$$$$ if you want to replace it.
So, when you do go for a new bike, don't skimp on the frame. If that means waiting another couple months to save up for the one you really want, then wait! |

I am in Ventura right now for business but MAN, is there a lot of bike shops out here. I stepped into the Trek Bicycle shop and to performance bike. I ended up getting shimano pedals for now and I'm looking for a pair of adidas minrett shoes. It was hard to avoid the bikes tho. I was hoping to get a demo in before I leave. I saw the Fuel EX and boy is that a beauty. It had mud all over it and it just made me want to get it. I'll ask to demo it soon. I saw an Iron Horse MKIII and that looks pretty sweet but its like...ehh!! I really wish I could have been at fullerton on tuesday to demo the giant bikes. oh well...
