Default difference in forks 32mm and 36mm?

What is the difference in forks that have the 32mm and 36mm spec?

Is it just travel, what part of the fork is 32mm?

looking at the fox forks and confused

It's the width of the fork legs in millimeters. Simple as that!

stanchions my friend, stanchions. a fox 32 has 32mm diameter stanchions vs. a fox 36 (van, RC2, etc.) that has 36mm stanchions. It's basically a size designator, but having larger diameter stanchions typically means a stiffer fork chassis.

What bike are you going to put the fork on and what type of riding are you going to do?

fox 36 rc2, rock shox lyrik, etc. all would be a great match for that frame. And most have some nice girthy stanchions.

My husband has an RFX and loves it. He runs the Fox Talas 36 RC2. Great fork!
