Default Feeler Slopestyle Vs DH rig

Not planning on buying a new bike but would like some comparisons.
Full 8.5 inch Dh bike vs Something like the Intense SS
seems like the SS would suit my style better, lots of jumping, whips, etc..
What does everone think.

P.S. Im not buying a SS unless one is given to me but was just wondering what some feedback on the Intense is since I know we have a few members with them

I think just from the terrain in general within California a Slopstyle would be more suitable.

I've been thinking about replacing my XC bike with a Slopestyle since I don't climb anyway.

split the difference, get a bike with 7 inch single crown and 7 to 8 in back. maybe a dual ring setup with a guide so you can do a little climbing too

remember when buying a ss bike what they are designed for, slopstyle most of them have pretty short rear triangles, which is nice for exceleration, cornering etc. they are not designed to gobble up rock gardens, mine climbs really well for what its designed for. remember if you plan to do any climbing the standover is pretty low, might be trouble if your a taller rider. I love my ss for trailridding though lots o fun!!!

dont let politics get in the way of a descent bike. I still see plenty of them out there, ride what you like.
as far as the evo goes, if your considering a slopstyle, you probably would not like the evo it has a higher standover hight, and the bottom bracket is a little high. It's an all mountain, not a slopstyle

kudos.

If you want to throw it around a heavy ass bike will only keep you down. Kona howler or the Chumba XCL can take some, SS would be the bass/cowan. Then there is always Transition....

Ive ridden the bottlerocket alot, i think my 7 point may just be about perfect for what it does, takes rocks but I can still jump it and throw it around.

the bottle rocket is a blast it's just a bmx on steroids, its gets kind of pissed off in rock gardens though. not to heavy though mine ways right around 33 to 35 depending on tires and pedals

The low slack geo on the SS makes it very stable in the gnar. Obviously it is not going to absorb bumps like a bike with more travel, but it is very comfortable at speed.

One thing you can try with the 7Point is to run a 8.5 x 2.5 shock. It will slacken the head angle to the 65 degree ballpark and lower your BB height below 14".

Makes for a more stable ride and makes cornering much easier.

I made the switch and can't go back. The stock 2005-2007 7Point geo feels awkward to me now days.

This coming from a guy with his Evo up for sale?

I missed the memo on the hating, but know a good product when I see one. Also their new website is hot, and the 09' products will be on fire once unleashed.

I missed the memo on hating too. Dubjay is actually selling his XCL not evo, the evo is too much fun to sell.

I've actually seen a bit of chumba's 09 prototypes. Can't make me divulge any details but I can say it's HOT!

Winston has spoken!
I happen to agree 100%.
Slacker head angle, lower bottom bracket, increased stability and improved cornering...... Everything you have been looking for!

* One thing you can NOT deny-: you love riding the 7 Point!
Get your hands on an 8.5 x 2.5 shock (i.e. borrow or purchase). If after doing so, you are still not happy.... start looking for a new bike.
