Hi everyone,
I have been experiencing a clicking sound on my pedal stroke when my right pedal hits six o'clock. It clicks every time! I think the sound is coming from inside the bottom bracket. Does this sound familiar to anyone who might have some advice? Thank you in advance! FP |

u cant tighten them because they just pressed in there with like an epoxy or some kind of glue.
i had the same problem with mi shimano hone i sent them in to get warentied.take them to your bike shop and ask them if they can send them in to the company. or that might not be the problem. just check everything and make sure its tight. can you wiggle your peddal |

is the front derailer cable hiting the crank arm? it would be when the right arm is finishing the down stroke, and the left one is in its highest position.

I had a clicking sound before, took me a while to figure it out. I took the chain off and spin it and the sound was gone but came back after I put the chain on. after further inspection, I found that my chainring was bent. I fixed it with an adjustable wrench by clamping it and bending.

I have the exact same thing. If I pedal with only my left foot I can't make it click but if I pedal with the right I can make it click. It seems to come and go. Not sure it's really at 6:00 though but it is once per revolution.

Sometimes finding these things can be tough. Sounds can travel through the frame so it's possible to think a sound is coming from one area when it's not.
Have you tried pedalling while standing? This would eliminate the seat/post from consideration. From there you can remove the chain and check the links for binding, look at each tooth on the chainrings, remove the chainrings and reinstall with grease in all areas where there is metal to metal contact. While the cranks are off, check the bottom bracket bearings. Check the pedal bearings in the spindles. If it's full suspension you can get sounds from bad pivot bearing and shock bushings as well but I would start your search around the cranks. C

Personally I've had a lot of strange squeeks and cracks come from seat rails that were starting to come loose. And as craig said it may sound like they're coming from somewhere else. The no.2 spot is a chain link thats tight - when it goes around it can click against different parts or snap tight again.

Just something not mentioned yet ...
A simple check and something that gets over looked, do you run clipless? If so, check the sole of the shoe. The part of the sole under the cleat. Some time the bar between the holes snaps and will cause a "click" noise. The cleats will stay on but the noise can get on your nerves. Also check the pedal its self if running clipless. I have broke the binding on a few "cheep" pedals. They still work but again, you get an annoying click noise.

Crank Brothers pedals will make a clicking sound if you don't keep them greased properly.
