Red face qUICK qUESTION about my Fox Fork.

I know I've told a few of u but I would like to hear from more people to know what I should do! I have very little to none skills on the Mechs department

Ok, I've had my Jamis XLT since May 05. I don’t do crazy jumps or 5 foot hucks like many here do, even when I got 5" of travel . But for some reason my FOX Vanilla Fork is licking Oil allot more then the usual

Questions are does the fork need maintenance alrdy? You all think Fox will fix it under warranty? Or Jamis? Or Performance
(store I bough it from). Can it be a quick fix of replacing a small part like a gasket? danng I feel like such a noob!!

Can't answer your question, but you're in the same boat as me. I can't fix anything on my bike, because I have no mechanic skills and don't even know where to start. Even if I wanted to try I never have the right tools.

Your Fox fork should have a 1 year warranty and it sounds like the stanchion seal is bad. Either take it back into Performance and have them send it into Fox under warranty or get some Enduro seals so that won't happen again.

If you go the Enduro seal route, The Path should be able to install them for you. I had two of my forks worked on by them...

Also another thing to try is make sure no dirt is building up around the lip of the seal.. this can cause a slight gap therefore cause more than the normal amount of fluid to leak on the stanchion

Yeah!! I freaking suck fixing stuff too Stev. so, this really helps out. Thnks all for the great info. I do clean the dirt out after each ride but I guess i didnt help and luck is not on my side this time!! Just talked to performance and dood was like, Fox wont cover that and well I was trying to save some money by doing a quick fix but I guess I cant run from it!! Plus I really don’t and should NOT! go cheap on the fork cuz that could be my neck if I put cheap parts or Mickey mouse the thing!! sooo there goes my beer money!!

just take it to the Path and let Tani look at it.... might save shipping it to Fox just to wait forever... if ANYTHING send it to Push and let them rebuild it *IF* The Path recommends it.... Just a thought

The Path has re-built two of my Fox Forks and serviced my Maverick DUC. They are very good at getting the job done when they say.
