Default SS Hub - Gears?

Hey all...Got to thinking about it, and I thought that I might see if it would be possible to put gears on a SS Hope Pro II hub. I was thinking I could possibly fit 7 gears. Is this possible? If so, tell me how I should do this....

I don't know about 7 - but I've seen people fit up to 5 on that hub. Just use the part of a 9 speed hub that is joined together.

I was looking into this earlier, And I think if I go with part of a 11-32 hub, I can get 18-32 on there.

from a forum on mtbr: (link here)

I use the 5 speed XT cluster (CS m770 i think).
5 speeds and an XT derailer. just becareful when adjusting it and make sure that you cannot shift the whole shebang into your wheel..

cjwally - you running away from your SS'ing Nightmares? Let's hear 'em!

Hmm, Niner sells a different dropout b/c you'll need a hanger for a rear derailleur.

CJwally, you trying to get more high gears or low gears?

I am, but I want to possibly put gears on every now and then.... Yesterday while riding up Trabuco, I was not having a good time... Ultimately, I want an internal hub....

Jeff Jones is making a few six speed cassettes for the King Hub. I contacted him regarding the Hope Pro II's compatiblity and he thinks that the fit should be perfect.
