Back when I raced I changed pads 3 or 4 times a month. I also used EBC Red at the time which are a super soft compound, combine that with 245lbs and gravity and they wear fast.

These days I need to swap pads about 3 or 4 times/year and have been using EBC Gold.

I don't use my brakes enough to need any changing!!!

Really though, I run Hayes Mag 9 brakes on all of my bikes and change them when they feel crappy which is like once a year maybe.

I don't understand why people wear them out, I am still on the original set. Once all the stinky stuff wore out they started sparking and working much better. Rotors get hot when they start to glow but you can see the trail better at night.

I don't change my brake pads ever I just change bikes.

It seems like I change bikes before the pads have time to wear out.
In the last year the only bike I have that has used a set of pad would be the F4 the floating system works great but it can bew hard on brakes.

It really varies, but it seems that the shimano resin pads last about half as long as the metal pads, but they don't squeal, so I put up with more frequent replacement. Probably about 3-4x per year.

I am just about due for a change. I am running Avid Juicy 7 brakes with Organic Pads. They have lasted about 6 months with a lot of miles on them. So I guess twice a year is about right for me.

I just swapped out the pads on my Hayes 9 brakes after about 900 miles, can't remember how long they've been in there.

I am now using semi-metallics and there's a huge improvement over my old, worn to the backing, pads.
