Default S and S couplers

Anyone know of a local builder than can buy the S and S Machine Bicycle Torque Couplings that you put on the top tube and bottom tube in order to break down your bike for travel.

The guys won't sell them to me and will only distribute to builders. I'm in a time constraint position and just can't see myself sending my frame back east overnight. Plus they want 700 (for 10 day turnaroud not including shipping) total for the couplings and installation... Its just too much money.

the couplers themselves are pretty pricey, as far as I know.

I'd be curious to hear what you find out, I'm interested as well.

I met Steve (the guy who runs S & S) at a Sacramento Recumbent Bike Club bike ride aorund 10 years ago. You might try posting something on their website. He might still be there and some of the people there might be in contact with him. I don't any of the people who are currently in the club.

Try www.curtlo.com. Doug uses them and he is located in Washington state. Not too local but at least he is on this coast.
