Default I learned something today

......aluminum bolts are brittle, so don't torque on them! So there I was, swapping out the coil on my DHX. The coil swap went as planned but when I went to put the bolts back in, thats where I came into a world of hurt. I bolted down the top bolt and proceed to tighten the bottom bolt when BLAM!!!! The bottom bolt disintegrates . I didn't think that I was tightening too tight but apparently I was. After kicking myself for a minute, I decided to take off the shock just so I can take a look at the mounting holes. I then try to unbolt the top mounting bolt. The bolt didn't want to budge. I apply a little elbow grease and then BAM! the hex head strips on me! Now I'm REALLY kicking myself! Well, there was no crying over spilled milk. What's done is done. After drilling out the parts of the bolts that were still stuck in the bike, I went to the hardware store and found a bolt that will fit the bottom mount, but now I'm on a mission to fins a bolt that fits the top. Tomorrow I'm going to take my bike around to the shops to see if anyone has a bolt that'll fit my bike. If worse comes to worse, I'll just have to find an 8mm blank and cut the threads my self. Anyone have an extra 8mm X 60mm fine thread pitch bolt?

I didn't know there was one in Corona . I went to the one in Santa Ana after the guys at the Path told me about it. I was sketching there for a while because none of the shops had any spare bolts that would fit my bike. I found the correct bolts, got two of them (just to be safe) and now my bike is back up and running .
