Default Tire numbers...

Being the only bike geek at work one of our camp hosts asked me what the five numbers next to the tire size mean. In this case he had some Target brand tire sized 26x1.93. The the left of these numbers were 50 ### (sorry I can't remember the last three numbers were...this was at like 6 this morning so I'm just stoked I remembered to post this). Any idea what the numbers mean? My guess was possibly either metric sizing or some sort of rubber compound code. Thanks to anyone who might be able to answer.

Default mystery numbers

Hey Jack(?),
If the numbers are in the format 50-559, it's the metric measurement of the tire. The first 2 numbers is the tire's width in millimeters, and the last 3 is the tire's bead diameter (559 = 22"= a 26" rim). The printed metric width measurement is sometimes more accurate than whatever the tire's listed width in inches is. (especially wtb tires).
