Default New Rims - do I go ghetto?

Ok, so I have new rims (Azonic Outlaws), it's Friday night, I'm already a beer deep (and wanting more), I want to get these puppies mounted (although the odds of going for a ride tomorrow are slim-to-none).

I don't have rim tape, but I remember Roger telling me that he uses duct tape.

Anyone have experience with duct tape? Should I put down my beer and head to performance (closest shop) and pick up some forte stuff?

Opinions wanted!

You can do it using 20" BMX tubes too(In case you have some of those laying around)

Edit:Nevermind, I thought you were trying to go tubeless.

Electrical tape, especially high grade vinyl stuff works great. I used that on both of my 29er wheel sets (Speeddisk rims laced to Hopes)

Two layers vinyl tape, Duct tape will end up coming apart when you least want it to, it will work for awhile, but when it dries out, youll hate it

I have duct tape on my rims for my dh bike. It's been working fine, no movement etc...I agree with DirtymikeTBD, it won't be your friend if it dries though.

Electrical tape is a bit better than duct tape. By using that, and not drinking and driving, you have learned well grasshopper.

I used friction tape today. It feels just like rim tape.
