I have an old XTR crankset that I've had forever and my middle ring is DONE. Does anyone know if there are compatability issues with the M952 rings?
I tried looking up the specs on the M950 stuff on shimano's website, they go as far back as the m952. Any info is greatly appreciated! |

Assuming you have the same bolt pattern (5 vs. 4), they are essentially the same. I've owned several sets of 950 and 952, and for the life of me, I couldn't tell you the difference. Some of these cranks came with a 5 bolt spider and all of the rings bolted to the spider (5 bolt). On the more common version, the big ring WAS the spider, and the small and middle ring bolted to the big ring (4 bolt).
