Default Silicone lube on forks?

Anybody out there know if using a silicone lubricant on suspension seals is a good idea? i did it to my forks and shock after a really good cleaning and they seem to slide like a dream now, but i'm wondering if the silicone can be detrimental to the seals. i can't come up with a reason why it would, but it just seems too good to be true; silicone acts like a teflon coating and keeps my stanchions and seals clean, even in the mud!

Unless they're urethane seals, and this is unlikely, you're good to go. If you use the DuPont Silicone spray, that stuff is actually loaded with Teflon.

I use silicone on my sliders and shock, and it makes a great frame cleaner/shiner also. I leaves a nice shiny coat.

I use original formula Honda Pro Polish both to clean the sliders/seals and then respray a small amount on the stanchions and don't wipe it off. It's never attracted dirt, but I don't know how other cleaners/lubs will attract dirt. If my RP23 is dry, it starts quaking like a duck w/ ProPedal on.
