Talking fork options for a cannondale

i own a cannondale jekyll.. considering different forks, but what fits? its got a monster head tube, does this cause fitment problems? maybe i dont need new ones, but its got a heavier spring with the "correct" ammnt. of air for my weight, but i bottom out quite a bit still. how do i adjust the front fork? it says i use a 4mm allen, but i stick it in the head of the fork and nothing happens. its got about an 1/8th inch of sag, which is truely annoying because when i climb it knocks as it goes from 1/8th to 0.. i guess i could fiddel with the adj. to see if i could get it to feel better, if i knew how.. any help is appreciated.

i had a buddie put on a regular suspension fork with the use of a headset adaptor you can look into that. maybe you need more air in the shock or need to have the shock rebuilt, you never know

Default uhhh oh...

okay well i tried turning the alum. stud that sticks out of the top of the fork.. it just spins, both ways, and doesnt do anyting.. makes little popping noises, i dont notice anything in the amount of rebound, just that it goes from quiet and smooth to loud and rough, what gives!!??.. i dont know if it did this before, but when you compress/decompress the fork, it makes air sounds, like sucking air in, blowing ait out, its coming from the bottom neer the schrader valve. did i destroy something?

Default new schrader valves

Unscrew those schrader valves and replace them. That's most likely your problem. You can get new ones from Pep Boys, etc cheaper than the bike shop. If that fork has never been rebuilt, I'm sure it's due.

I saw something recently about an aftermarket upgrade kit for the Cannondale headshock. Try Googling it.

if the schrader was leaking it would hold air, and the front of the bike wouldnt stay up.. it stays up, but just makes that weird air noise, its litterally coming EXACTLY from where the arrow ends, not the schrader. does this fork even have a spring? after i let all the air out, i could compress and decompress the fork with great ease... is it possible that its an air shock purely?

found this on headshokdoc.comThe displaced air from the fork telescoping in and out is usually exhausted through a gap in the clip which holds the damper cartridge in place (and through the headtube / frame). The new dust cap seals the cartridge completely - air can only exhaust through the headtube / frame instead. This can make the fork protection boot inflate / collapse more than usual and give rise to a 'flat tyre' sort of sound. It's nothing to worry about - slightly loosening the top zip tie on the boot will help.

so i guess the air noise is normal... i just didnt notice it aparently. they are refering to the CCS upgrade blocking off that orfice.
