Default brake line shortening and bleeding

Im about to shorten the brake line, my question is, do i need to bleed the brakes after shortening the lines? i haven't done it yet, so would i loose fluid if i cut the line to shorten it?

thanks

yes, you do need to re-bleed the lines after you cut them. its not really about losing fluid, its about introducing air and or other contaminants into the system.
good luck!

The Sram Tech says you should. Here's a vid on the process.

If you have skills, and a little luck, sometimes, you don't have to. I would plan on bleeding it though. If you use some wire to pop any bubles that form on the line and drop a little extra fluid in the line by dipping the wire in fluid, then dropping fluid in the line as you pop the bubble. Also, drop fluid into the master, and hold everything at an angle so that it doesn't drip. If you have any weird lever feel, or loss of power, bleed em.
