Tips for mounting tires onto wheel???

Dude, I had the same trouble with a new Rampage 29" tire on a Stans Arch rim. Me and a buddy were swearing like crazy after an hour of struggling to mount the tire with tube in place. Three split tubes and sore fingers later we changed out the Velox rim tape for Stans yellow rim tape (much thinner) and voila, the tire mounted like butter.

I went and:
extra inner tubes
pedro's tire lever
carl's (pho'd up) steel core tire lever
strapping tap from Lowe's

I set forth removing the tires from the rim and had a hard time pulling the tire off. Removed the Velox rim tape (i really think this was the culprit) and installed the packing tape onto the rim. Then put one side of the tire on and I partially inflated the inner tube. Now comes the fun part; as i was anticipating another wrestling match. I took everyone's advice and made sure that the opposite side was deep into the rim's channel and I'll be a MONKEY'S UNCLE because the dam tire just slide right on over the rim.

My wife who was sitting inside watching me in the backyard doing this is laughing now because she saw how hard I fought w/ this dam tire and how it went on so easily today.

Then i went to inflate, squirted some soapy water along the circumference to help facilitate the bead to set. Viola, it took me longer to remove the tire and inner tube than it did to reinstall it this time.

I'm a happy camper now!

no kidding jojo i wish i did you should have seen the look on my face when the last few inches of the bead just slid over the rim
