I might be getting an adjustable seatpost for Mother's Day (isn't that sweet?). I'm wondering who has tried the Joplin R and if they like it. Thanks!

I just got mine yesterday. I was able to demo one at the Dirt Series class and I loved it, so I had to have one!
Sure, its a little heavier but the quick and easy seat height adjustment is great. I've already taken the new one out and its pretty nice. ![]()

isn't it basically identical to the maverick speedball (i think) seatpost??
if so, that's been around for a while so i'd imagine people might have some experience with those. |

Yup it is exactly like the Maverick....thats because it is.They bought the rights to the seatpost. However as with any product from Crank Bros. they increased the quality of the product. I rode one for awhile. It was great for all around riding and superD. I got rid of it because I race XC and became a weight weinie.

I had the Maverick version of the post, but after blowing 3 of them up within 4 months, the lbs swiched it out for the gravity dropper under store warranty. The GD seems a little crude in operation, but I haven't had a problem with it so far.

Roger and I both use Gravity Droppers (with the handlebar lever). We have had them for 4 years and love them. I recently upgraded my 4" model for the new one that has both a 1" and 3" drop. I LOVE IT!!!!!

I have had it for about 3 weeks now. No problems so far. 3 inches is perfect for me, although if you have long legs, you might need a longer travel model.

Here's an added incentive to get the Joplin. The Joplin R is available at REI for $219 (http://www.rei.com/product/768251?vc...HP_CYCLING_TOC) and combined with the current 20% off coupon (ANNV20) for members it comes down to ~$175
