Thumbs down POS Dart 3 issues

Dart 3 fork on my fairly new Giant has failed..... miserably. The rebound adjuster fell out sometime on my ride down Monroe truck trail. Now oil is puking from allen head where the adjuster was and the lockout doesnt do anything. The shock is super springy, I would assume that is from the lack of oil in the fork? What to do besides upgrading to a real shock, LOL........

Not really familiar with that fork other than seeing it on the lower priced hard-tails. I'd probably say do yourself a favor and get a new fork. I had the same issue with a cheapo Manitou fork on my Rockhopper and was much happier once I picked up a new Marzocchi with lockout. Made those climbs oh so much better.

Take it back to teh shop you bought it from and see if they will replace it...if they will they should let you pay the difference between that one and an upgrade

Get a new, better fork. I had the dart and while I never broke mine like you, it sucked all the time I did have it.

A few weeks back I got my 15 year old son a closeout, FSR XC base model, which came with a 308 Rock Shox Tora. After only 2 mellow rides, the fork dies. The lock out is gone and it is totally rigid. The LBS said it needs a total rebuild......after 2 rides? Luckily they are taking care of it. Maybe he needs an upgrade.........

Makes me wonder about Rock Shox. I run a Fox F120 on my 08 Stumpy and it is buttery smooth, but too steep price wise for his bike for now.....

I have 2 Toras. One came on my FSRxc and another I bought used. The one on the Speshy kinda sucks, but I blame Specialized for it. They do something to dumb the thing down so it will only do 100mm, and whatever they're doing for the SL version is the cause IMO. I like my other Tora. It's no Talas, but it didn't cost me 800 bucks either.

IF your bike is new, its probably still under warrenty. Take it back to the shop and get it rebuilt for free. DON'T ditch the fork as you can probably sell/give it to someone looking for a nice basic replacement.

Then throw on a Reba and you'll be a happy camper!

if you do get a new fork, look for a decent used fork, steer clear of the lower end Marz stuff trust me, im not trying to bash marz but there low end stuff is junk

LBS said no worries, that Giant knows there is a problem and I should have either a new fork coming or they are going to upgrade the seals on mine.......
