Ok, last post for the night. But I had the idea ( if avalible) to use 4 violet/blue and 4 red light emitting diodes to be on the far and near end of the visible light spectrum. May enhance the white lights around you on a night ride.???? worth a try at the least.

ya know a balance between red shift/blue shift, moving away, moving near

Brandon what is your route? If you're going to be in high traffic areas don't forget your rear light (probably even more important then your front). I'm okay with my MiNewt, but if you're going any faster then 10 mph you'll overrun it. I'm talking about the first edition as I don't have any knowledge of their second generation, which I hear is somewhat better. I run a TriNewt that is really good, but out of your price range. If you are looking for just vsibilty ( where the drivers see you) then the MiNewt will be fine, but if you want a good light that you can see further ahead and is dependable I think you'll have to go a little higher on your price, or get Brewmasters help in building one. His light is just as good as any of our expensive ones.

Well, im hoping to go down baseline, turn south on grand, west on arrow highway, then its basically a straight shot. And i have blinky taillights laying around that will work to be visible, maybe even put a few on to be seen since i'd be commuting a high traffic route
Edit: Its about a 30 mile ride, and took me an hour and forty five minutes when i tried it out yesterday

Your route is a high traffic one. Do whatever you can to be seen. If at all possible find some side streets that'll pararell these heavy traffic routes. 2 or 3 blinking red lights is a very good idea.

This is from Lambas_drive's thread on eMpTyBeeR

At around $100 for a light this bright, and only about $20 on top of that for a dual light, im convinced it'd be worth taking the time to build one myself. Ill let you know how it works..
Im liking the second one, But im thinking for $120, get one flood bulb like that first pic, then the 2nd pic would be my other light, so i could see close and far
