Default New Bike Porn!

....Actually compared to some of the other builds I've seen on here lately, (i.e. Pivot Mach 5) it's more like the Victoria Secret Catalog or the Sports Illustrated swimsuit Issue.

Some of you might remember the Pitch Vs. Reign thread from a while back. Pitch vs. Reign

I decided to go with the 2008 Reign 0.

Just a hair over 28 lbs and 6" buttery of travel. Feels and pedals EXACTLY like the DW-Link.

Full specs here:
http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/...in/1285/29376/

I'm stoked that I paid less than $2,600 including tax with the stock build as you see it right now. For that price I'd be crazy NOT to buy it.

I'd like to thank the Mayor, Dino Brown for talking up the Reign so much. I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to give me advice and info on both the Reign and the Pitch. So far, I'm extremely happy with the purchase. Now I must consider upgrades.

Anyways....
Here it is. Barely out of the shop.

Nice rig!!! I got mine in march, and I must say it was $$$ well spent. Not much to upgrade, just lose the reflectors and your good to go. Again, congrats on the new ride. BTW, let me know if you start hearing a 'bubbling' sound coming from the rear brake, I'm still trying to figure out what's causing that on mine. Brakes work fine, I just figured that I don't need a bell, you'll hear me com'in.

And just like the Victoria Secrets catalog, that's hot! I like the gray/platinum finish with the black accents.

Is that the WTB Silverado seat? Regardless, that seat adds to the aggressive look.

Congrats on the purchase. It's amazing they are able to get a durable 6" travel bike under 30lbs. Swap out the fork to a 36 and swap over to a coil. Take the weight penalty for the plushness. Mine still climbs like a goat. I got a 7.875x2.25 Vanilla for 6.75" of rear travel. Mine's like 35 lbs though.

Are you serious?

I have an extra Marz Roco Air I might throw on the rear. That shock is almost as good as a coil without the weight penalty.

I'm still up in the air as to which fork I want to put on there. The 36 is an option but I'm not sure if want to rake it back that much. I use the Stinky if I'm going ride anything that aggressive. This bike is more intended for a All-mtn/trail/xc oriented riding.

Unfortunately no. I'm not going to ride it until I swap out some parts and have it built up the way I want it. I don't want to damage the re-sale value of the stock components.

I've heard the Marz Roco Air doesn't get full travel no matter what you do.

The 36 will rake it a TAD. I didn't have any problems climbing with it or popping wheelies. I think you'll find yourself riding the Stinky less and less.

There's a trick little bottom out adjustment you can make to the Roco to get the full travel.

http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?p=3162795

It's actually a pretty easy procedure.

jared, DW link actually was introduced on the Iron Horse Hollowpoints back in 02-03.. this was the first generation of the DW link which Giant pretty much copied and released on their bikes in 2005.

Stinky, great bike... i would get the same exact bike if i had a use for a 6" travel bike
