Default does size matter?

switched forks (shipped my sold one today and new one shipping tomorrow) and got a new headset in preparation...and when putting side by side, was shocked how much larger the 1.5 is. one would think 3/8" would not "look" that huge but boy it does.....though i am hypocrite of the year, i went with King 1.5 cuz it looks so badazz...friggin big azz cups so not afraid of creaking AT ALL...and the friggin bearing preloader is a sweet system with the 1.5. Not to mention, the beast weighs a hefty 315 grams in all (230 grams headset + 85 grams bearing preloader) Piss off you weight weenies!

Here is a side by side to see comparison of the 1.5 vs standard which really is quite suprising (to me anyway)

Good choice going to 1.5 though.. single crown forks on a all mountain and freeride bike are stronger and i heard feel better?

this shop is a very good shop.....they have significant experience with 1.5s given they are a cannondale dealer as well. they even had this King 1.5 headset in stock which surprised me. In addition, they have the only I9 roadwheels in stock in the country which was cool....i find road biking very ghey but those wheels were SO PSICK in person!

headset is black but the lettering is so subtle (unlike standard size Kings) it looks whey bitchin....a colored headset on this bike would be too much so black worked out nicely in this case, especially since they had it on their shelf

truthfully, the 1 1/8" Marz 66 was a stellar fork. I will however be interested if i can tell the difference in say hard braking...where even the 66 would tend to shutter back and forth

dude, I know! I am a total hypocrite! KINGS ARE QUEENS was invented by me and I am ashamed...truth be told, my issues with Kings have been the 1 1/8 versions in terms of creaking etc (though never on the Turner)....but the cups on the 1.5, and size as a whole, is MASSIVE so i have zero concerns, especially for this 175 lb girl

stem is the same as was on the TerreMoFo...a Syncros AM Stem instead this time a 1.5 version of course.....fork is a Lyrik coil. the fork i sold was great, just not for me

Good call. Was starting to wonder if you were going to pull the trigger on the Lyrik or not. I'm digging my 1.5 coil--so wonderfully stiff and deliciously plush, it deserves an NC-17 rating.

I predict you'll be completely pstoked.

Thanks man...now all that is possibly left is for me to put a gravity diaper device on the bike and determine which rear shock to go with

your chronology is all wrong b!tch...i was ventana many a year ago and the turner dabbling was a lapse in my judgment is all

we cant all be as smart as you by actually taking a fork, making it heavier AND flexier, all the while paying for that to be done
