Default Bottlerocket make over

Just wanted to to get some feedback. I want to drop some weight on my bottlerocket so I am replacing the front fork, 66 RC2x, with an all air Nixon and my rear shock, DHX 5.0, with a Marzocchi Rocco TST air. I will hopefully drop over 2 lbs. The 66 and DHX work perfectly with the bike, but I love to try different set-ups and was curious what others might think or do. One friend already is laughing at me.

I rode a BR with a DHX air and loved it. I see quite a few people with air shocks in the rear that are tearing it up.

By the way I got a 66 and DHX on my Bottlerocket too!

Edit:

You need to ride with us at Fontucky someday, the rockets are taking over...

The roco air are great, I tried out ronnie's at marzocchi and it felt like a coil but why would you ditch a 66 for a manipoo. I'd keep the 66 around because you'll be riding that fork more than the manipoo because it will need to be fixed so often.

Could go 66 ATA?

Definitely a good choice on the Roco Air. It feels amazingly like a coil shock. I have a 2007 Roco Air R and I love it. The plushness factor is unreal for an air shock.

Honestly I will never use the potential of any 66 and I have never had a problem with a nixon, Shermans yes. Anything I can do to make this more pedal-able will benefit my style of riding.

I say skip the dessert for a few weeks and you should get your two lbs and have some cash left over!

I really wanted the float 36 rc2 but I can't get a deal one ($1000 is not in my budget) and the 55 is basically the same as as All Mtn and I have ridden both and liked the Nixon more, couldn't tell you why. I basically stole the nixon at far below cost so I said why not. In my dreams I would love to have all of these forks setting in my garage and a couple of days at mammoth on each. Never the less it is always fun trying new things.

Nixon Claimed weight 4.2 lbs, I'll let you know the true wait when it come in.

I have lost 20 lbs in 2 month (yea biggest loser). I am basically swapping the parts via ebay and other ways so the money is technically already spent.
