Default Fork question

I have an 06 Rockshox Rev"E"l"A"tion and tonight I was checking the air pressure...in the lower left stancion..I decided to let a little out and what comes out yellow-ish oil....this is not good correct? It rode fine before and after...

What caused this and what do I need to do....if anything

The air pressure was 125ish on both top and bottom....

That happens with my Reba, was told some oil gets by the seals...some oil is normal. What did surprise me when I did the Pike conversion the foam seals where totally dry. Reba only 7 months old, and since I have four bikes none of them see that much use.

related to the OP's question, so how often should you service your fork?

Apparently more often than I did my Reba...it was dry...still worked great.

And very common in an air forks / shocks.

That oil is to lubricate seals. Almost all the forks/shocks I've seen will spew oil when releasing air.

Yep, but it's just not good when the brake rotor is inches away from that negative air valve. I usually shield the rotor with something like fresh paper towel before making adjustments (especially releasing air).

You can replace the oil lost by letting out all of the air then removing the V stem then draining the oil and re fill with the recommended CC's of fluid. You can buy at most shops. Just tell them what you are doing. My fork spits up a little when I let air out. Both my Totem and my Reba. Both still work fine.

Default If you put the bike upside down...

While you release air, no oil will go out.
