Default 29er fork travel, 800mm or 100mm?

For those with 29er ht, on your fork, which set up are you using, 80mm or 100mm? and why?

80mm, it came with the bike? I know, that's no help.

100mm on both of my bikes now. Just went to 100mm for the NMBS at Fontana. I won't go back. No reason for 80mm. The Dos is meant for 80mm, but handled really well at 100mm and I was happy with it.

80 mm for my Air 9 hardtail. I see no need for 100 mm, but it is just a personal preference.

That's just because you've never tried it

I felt the same way! There isn't a huge difference, but if you are choosing between a fork that can't be changed (e.g. not a Reba) go with 100mm. Much more useful in the long run and there isn't any reason not to go 100mm IMO.

My fear is that a longer travel fork will be more floppy and less stiff. Not sure if this is true, but that is how I see it.
