Yep, I'm going to start making them. I just need to know the different diameters for the stems.
I'll figure out a way to get rid of the live primers. May just have to use spent rounds and just deal with the hammer strike mark.

Just shoot-em. Or hit up the local range for brass. Easier and safer than pulling the bullets off a live round.
I actually played a prank on a guy using a primered 12Ga shell on the bottom of his stool. It was louder than any firecracker!

Probably easierer to make a stem cap since a bullet is solid. Just drill and tap. Not sure you want 250 grains of rotating lead weight on your rims. It might throw you off balance on those high speed DH runs.

Do a search for Bullet Valve Stem Caps. They make them, although not out of real bullets. Your right, the weight would throw off the balance of the wheel.

Trust me on this, you DO NOT want live primers on that sucker...

Think mid-range fire cracker that is directionally focused at you face, and only takes an impact to ignite....
+1 regarding the primers. I happen to have a primer cap in my arm. The thing went off when a buddy was trying to weld the casing and I was sitting next to him, minding my own business and BLAM. The LAST thing you want is that thing going off with your face near by!

I think Jesse James got the idea from his buddy Billy Lane, who has the patent on them:
