It's not XC race light, but if you want to build a great, durable mid-wt, tubeless 26" rim I think the Mavic 819 is a great choice.
I'm running 819's on XT hubs on my SS. Got them for less than $200 at Jenson. Had my mechanic hand-true them to be safe and they've been rock solid since June of last year.

Hey DeeZee, the rims are 23.8 wide, just a bit wider then the 819's.
Looks like the Arches are wider, lighter and less expensive

However I do like Mavic stuff

No. BJammin does though. I wouldn't call him my mechanic. More like "life partner".

I was thinking Hope's to start...or is there something else? I like Kings but it's a bit steep. I want to be able to run these as SS for now and if I want to go 1x9 i can slap on a cassette later.

Thoughts?
Foo you are not a Fool

I like your style. However forget the 1X9 conversion sheeet.

You can use these wheels on your SS or your new FS bike
