It was an Arch rim ran tubeless with a Resolution front tire. Still don't know if the wheel tac'od and blew the front wheel off the rim, or the Tire burped and then the wheel taco'd. It's hard to tell when from looking at just the Zapruder film.

If you go with the Hopes, Foo, it looks like you can easily keep it under $500

p.s. apparently I just missed you in the store yesterday...
dang i guess i did just miss you. I think i'll give the 819's a go along w/ the hope...not sure bout color of hub or nipples. I liked jeff's pink nips

I thought this was a 29er discussion. What's up with the thread-jacking??

Mavic 819's are 26" rims. The only Mavic 29er rim I know of are the *edit* 719's. */edit*

Yes, I think it was a lone gunman for sure. Those big 29 tires make a nice juicy target.

What the hell does Foo do for a living? You pimping girls? Guys? Both? I'm single, no kids, a GF, I save all my cash but find it difficult to spring for a $500 wheel set. Maybe I'm just a cheap azz. While you are at it Foo, please ICE out something on your bike with Diamonds or Rubys. Better yet, get a custom grill for your teeth that has the words FooFighter in it. I'll get that for your birthday.

The model is the TN 719 Disc, non-UST at around 500 grams a hoop...interested to try them- ordered a pair for myself and few for the shop- out so if anyone wants to buy some never laced Salsa Delgado Race 29 rims in black, let me know!

DEFINITELY NOT THE SAME. Crosslands are Mavics mid-lower end rim and come usually on complete wheels. The Mavic 819 is a great 26" rim. Works excellent tubeless with a UST tire, is a strong but not incredibly heavy rim. It's not XC race light, but if you want to build a great, durable mid-wt, tubeless 26" rim I think the Mavic 819 is a great choice.

That's right - 719. 729 is something else.

I wish Mavic would make their rim model numbers a little easier to interpret.

I'd be nice if they would sell the rim they use in the Crossmax 29er individually.

well had i known that, i could have offered some advice.

I run the same combo on the Kona. Tubeless with Nevegal and Small Block 8 and a whole bunch of Stan's

maybe not the lightest, but strong as hell
