hey everyone- I just got a RS Domain, 160 mm U-turn version, for my Heckler. I read on mtbr that sometimes these forks ship with the wrong oil level and I should check it. I downloaded the technical manual, and it doesn't have a section on just an oil check/change, it tells you how to do that as part of a complete overhaul. My question is, do I really need to take the fork completely apart to check the oil level? It seems to me i can leave the fork on the bike, put it in a stand so fork is unweighted, remove right top cap and damper cartridge, and then check the oil volume. Is this correct? I should have the u-turn at full travel setting when doing this, right? and rebound set at fast? Advice would be appreciated. Also, the tech manual for my Pike specifies what the height of the oil should
be in the leg, a much easier way of checking for proper oil volume than extracting it all with a cc-measuring syringe; the new domain manual doesn't have this info. Anybody know? thanks.
