Goathead and catus yes. Larger torns like Yucca maybe. Sidewall holes nope. I alway have Slime in my tubes and Stans in my Tubeless Tires. I hate flats.

I use Slime tubes and don't really notice the weight when riding. Maybe I'm just too powerful a climber?
I think they work because I haven't had a flat since I started using them (about 3 months ago), and I ride all over the place. They are cheap enough for you to try, so that's what I would suggest. Can't hurt! ![]() |

I've been using slime tubes since they first came out. Hate flats, love slime.
7000+ miles in the last two years. Three flats. One after riding through a field of thorns (pulled 53 out of my tire), one that I ripped a two inch gash in my sidewall and one last week that had three holes seal up once I pulled the tube from the tire. I usually run a lightweight in the front, regular in the rear.

I love slime. I usually buy std 1.95-2.1 tubes and put about twice as much slime in them as recommended. I've pulled a tube out (when changing a tire) that had 15 artichoke thistle thorns in it. It still held air (slow leak in between rides).

On a related note - I've been looking for removable core 29er tubes. I thought Bontrager used to make some, but the ones I saw at Jax were not. Any other leads? |

I love slime tubes. They keep me riding instead of fixing flats. The added weight is worth it in my opinion.

I saw some 29" slime tubes at Adrenaline last week. They were on the shelf near the front door.
