The rotor bolts are a Torx bit (T25) that should have come with the rotors. If not, I've got two or three you can have.
The CPS bolts are a 5MM Allen. The adapters are the same size.

Aliens are cool. I have one, but this has your torx bit and is pretty inexpensive:

If you want a cheap Topeak tool that gets the job done, go with the Hexus 17. It retails brand new for like 20 bux! And of course it has a chain breaker, T-25, 2.5,3,4,5,6mm allens (crappy) spoke wrench and tire levers(that break pretty easily on a roadie, but fine for mtn). But hey, it's only 20 bux and relatively small

You can buy a torx bit at your local HW store to fit any tool (ratcheting screwdriver) with replaceable bits. |

I'd buy the stuff separately--the little tools on the multitool arrays are too hard to use when you're doing a lot of work.
I love this thing and use it all the time: http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/TL707D02-Park+Aws-1C+Hex+Wrench+Set.aspx Buy two or three in case you misplace it. For the T-25, I bought a set of those T-handle "star" wrenches at Harbor Freight for like $5. It comes with six or seven wrenches that I'll never use, but the T-25 has enough leverage for any disc brake bolt and it's cheap as dirt. |

yeah, the multi tools are a little bit harder to work with, but you have the accessability of keeping them with you for on trail adjustments (which we all know happens).

One thing for the future ---- if you get frustrated by the stiffness of the inner pad knob of your BB7's you'll want to upgrade to BB7 2008 model. The inner pad can be turned by - guess what? - a Torx 25! Now figure out if your multitool fits between the spokes.
![]() Avid must have gotten a lot of feedback on how the inner knob binds up with dirt etc. ![]() |

But the right tool provides leverage and a finger-friendly grip.

I picked up a Craftsman 3/8" drive torque wrench at Sears, and all the hex and torx bits I need for it at HD, including a 3/8" to 1/4" adapter. It's great for working on my bikes, enabling the correct torque ranges for brakes, stems, seatposts, cranks, pedals...
