Default Need front Fork Advice...

I will be getting my bike here any day now... but after sitting on a similar model at another shop, I need a different front fork for a 29er. It has a Dart 3 and just sitting on the bike I compress it down about 30 to 40%. I'm in the Super Clydesdale range at around 290 to 310... I have been looking at the Reba but wanted some input on other front ends that are beefy enough to handle more weight.

well, maybe if you had to you could get stiffer springs for the dart3?
I've never ridden a Reba but everyone on here swears by them and love them.
and i think the reba has the air so you could just pump the air up alot?

Looks like a great option.

Maybe a RS tora 29? Stiffer than a Reba, and cheaper. But heavier.

RST M29 is stiffer than REBA too.

I hear the Fox29 Air fork is nice. But it'll cost you some cash.

I hear the Minute 29 works good. I think they've cleared out most of the clunking noise complaints. Just never ever open it up to sevice it yourself.

in your case I would probably get a 20mm thru axle like a Fluid fork from White Brothers. Not the most sophisticated (in terms of technology) but its getting good reviews form enough folks whose opinions i value and can get set to 110mm if you so choose, or 5"

for about a year, it's never works over a month without an issue.
The Minute also has TA20mm.

cool signature.

I just upgraded from a Reba to a Fox. It's very nice.

I highly recommend it. I didn't dislike my reba when I had it, but it broke so I had to replace or fix it. Now that I have the Fox, I think its a much better fit for my bike.

you bet, its a great signature!

too bad about your buddy....does he have the Fluid version? i know folks who actually like the Fluid coild version quite a bit. though to be honest, they only bought it because there were not a lot of options but did end up liking it good enough. has been reliable for them. I have ridden an early WB 29er version and it SUCKED....i think its only over the past year where they have begun to dial it in at the company.....at least that is what i understand

I've been running the White Bros Fluid 135 29er for a few months and it has been a great fork. Saved my rear a couple times for sure. No problems at all with it. The only thing to consider with 20mm TA forks like the WB is that you will need some kind of adapter if you use fork-mount racks. Not a big deal, and in my mind any trade-off in ease of use you give up with QR is more than made up in the extra stiffness of the TA. I am 180lbs FWIW.
