I overhauled a Trek fx5 geard bike into a singlespeed. When i start to stand up and really crank it skips a few links. It sounds like the chain is going to snap which has happened but that was before the singleator adaptation. Now it just sounds like something is about to snap. I took it in to adams cycles in san diego and they adjusted the alignment of it but said it was good to go. Any suggestions.

sounds like your chain could be too loose still? perhaps the singleator is not in the correct position for your bike? my buddy had this problem...too much chain slacn that the singleator could not compensate for. check that and make sure the spring is installed correctly. does it happen if you turn the bike upside down and just spin it...or easy rides around the block?
![]() SD folk.....thoughts?
