Default Bar Shim's

OK.... I should know this

Posts have shims to account for different sizes.

Please tell me Bars do too! Not that it's always wise but .... I realize that it's not optimum.

I've seen shims so you can run 22.2 mm bars in 25.4 mm stems, and shims so you can run 25.4 bars in 31.8 mm stems. However, I can't remember seeing them for sale, but I know they exist.

I had a friend that had them on a old GT hardtail. He had problems with them occasionally. I wouldn't use them with carbon bars. You have to torque them down pretty good.

Walk into the wrong bar and you might see some shims.

They are available through your LBS through BTI

When I was addicted to Azonic Double wall bars, I ran 25.4 to 31.8 shims on a Thomson X-4 stem. I have pushed this setup pretty hard, and it was issue free. We stock these shims.

Thanks all....

I finally got around to rechecking this thread....

Problem Solvers has a shim to go from 25.4mm bar to a 31.8 clamp. I'll give it a try....
