Default 29er Tire Recs - Stan's Rims

Ok - I put 29er in the title to attract attention.

Anyways, I'm nearing the completion of my 29er I'll be racing on and I was just wondering what people out there are using with Stan's rims?

I'd prefer to stick with UST or Tubeless Ready type tires. Rim of choice at this time is the Stan's Arch.

So I was thinking of using:

Hutchinson Python 29er UST
Bontrager Dry X (Tubeless ready)

Any opinions on those? Or is there something better out there? Light, durable, and works great in SoCal would be perfect

I ran dual 2.2 Nevegals at first, but didn't like how sluggish running 2 of them made the bike feel. Plus, the rear Nevegal would rub the front derailleur from time to time.

So I got a 2.1 WTB Exiwolf mainly to solve the tire rub issue and it ended up being an awesome move all around. It rolls really well and still hooks up well. So couple that with the aggressive 2.2 Nevegal up front and I think that's a winning combo.

I have always liked the bigger tire up front/smaller tire in the rear approach and the Nevegal/Exiwolf combo works.

I'm running resolution up front, captain rear, tubeless on arches.

trout- you should check out the captain... IMO more traction, esp braking, and still rolls well.

X2 on the DOS

Also running Rampages on the RIP9 with Arches

Resolutions are going to a bit tricky to get your hands on...

I am currently running Bontrager Jones ACX 29 TLR on the front and rear of my Niner MCR. Have not had any issues with the tires so far and they are fairly light at 650 grams.

I'm running Stan's The Crow's on ZTR Arches. Not the grippiest tire by any stretch, but they are light and very fast. You need to pick your tire for your terrain, especially if you are racing.
