Its not a major concern for me right now because my creakyness is 85% gone after tighting the pivots.
specialized + mt bike rider = creak.

Thats the calculation they gave me when I was checking out new bikes at different shops.

The Art of Mountain Bike Maintanence by Lennard Zinn: http://www.zinncycles.com/books.aspx?book=mountainbike. Make sure you get the latest edition. Then the Park Tool book is great also: http://parktool.com/products/detail....9&item=BBB%2D1. The Park Tool book has great pictures and very concise information. The Zinn book has only drawings which I hate, but it's much more detailed.

The previous poster is right, there are tons of information on websites of manufacturers, online sellers and other sites. It's good to peruse through them throughout the course of the day and catch a few vital tips. But it's just easier to flip through a book which is right next to you during maintanence, rather than to have to run to the computer and/or dig up torn-up printouts of the instructions.

I can better that. Gabe at Adrenaline (thanks again Gabe) re-lubed all my pivots including the one behind the cranks on my Yeti 575 in an effort to stop a creaking sound. Turns out the QR on my rear wheel was loose I felt like an ass. .......I might be getting better at riding the bike but holy cow Batman!
