Default Fork issues?

I maybe just drunk from the game but I noticed an interesting dull clunk noise from both my Forks on my Horse and my SS. When both forks are not locked out, the action of pulling up on the bars and shifting my weight back going off a small jump or curb causes a dull clunk noise. It doesn't happen when it is locked out (which I rarely use), made sure eveything is tightened, nothing leaking, is this common when the fork is unloading?

Other than external adjustments, I'm not sure if their are issues internally.

Check you're HS.

Even the best HS on the planet CK will clunk if the stem is not tight.

marz forks are known for their loud/clunky top out... you could slow down your rebound a bit by adding (+) rebound damping, but that will change the tune on your forks

When was the last time you changed the oil? Zokes seam to come alive after oil changes.

The Horse is near new. Probably 20 rides on it so far? Fork on the SS was rebuilt by the Bike Co. so maybe a dozen rides on it?

So many forks ship with the wrong oil levels or near no oil that I always change the oil after a about a month of riding. My Z1 fork became a excellent fork after a oil change.

You see, that's why I ride a '97 Judy. So long as the elastomers haven't crumbled into dust, I'm good to go.

I had one before. 80mm of travel wasn't cutting it for me.

I would check the oil levels, better yet go ahead and change the oil. Zokie fork oil levels are hardly ever correct and after you break the fork in the oil usually looks very black/dirty. Like Dean said, changing the oil and getting the levels correct can do wonders.

Ditto on the rebound adjustment...I cant stand it when forks do that so i always soften them up a bit to create less force when topping out.

If it's an air fork and has a pos and neg air chamber you might need to check that??? Just my 2 cents. I had the same issue with my Manitou minute and I had no air in the neg chamber and it clunked while lifting to ride a wheelie. A little air and no more sound, go figure.

Rebound adjustment here too,
if you check the Zoke Website for a user manualyou will find a trouble shooting guide,

Issue
Knocking sound during
rebound, but no harsh top-out
Cause
Too much rebound damping
Resolution
Decrease rebound damping
