Some have said that, "real men drink cold sake..." baaaa! I say the right tool for the right job...killer sush on a cold night, warm sake goes well. We could go on and on about how warming sake just masks impurities, blah blah blah, but we won't.

Some have also said that the new ventana geo looks a lot like a Blur 4X (or possibly others)...again baaa!

With the 66-deg HA (maybe even slightly slacker), 13-inch BB, short chainstays, and 140mm rear travel. There really isn't anything on the market like this bad boy.

If you tried jacking the front end of a 4x up to 140, you still have the longer chainstays, BB will end up being the same, and you'd still end up with a steeper HA...and a slacker SA.

I suspect the Tazer might be another option, it's supposedly got a pretty slack HA, but still not close to sub-66. It's also only got 115 on the rear...and a super short eff TT.

I'll take the ventana and some warm sake please! The bike is a freak of nature!

You mean it'll slacken the HA but still be steeper than the Ventana? Yeah, it wont be exactly the same. But very similar: low and slack with medium travel. How long are the chainstays on that Ventana?

This Ventana is super cool. Like a mini DH ripper.

Very sweet bike, I love it. It actually looks like what I'm after right now. I'm curious though, does it climb at all? Some of the bikes mentioned earlier including the Blur 4x and Tazer are bikes I've been eyeing but they really need to be able to climb...at least a bit. (The bottlerocket is another I like) I'm looking for a rig that can be beat up pretty good and yet still get me to where I wanna go relatively easy and then be able to jump, pound and otherwisse abuse before riding home again. Oh and since I don't have the cash for custom is there a Ventana bike on the market similar to this one? Thanks and it really is a sweet bike!

Nearly kicked my butt climbing around El Moro this morning...(keep the sarcasm on the down-low please).

I suspect the low front end as well as the 74-deg seat angle make for pretty good climbing geo.

So far, I am very impressed with how it climbs. One of the primary things I want out of this bike is a trail bike that I really feel good on going dh. It has a 32 t ring on the front, and during the one climb I have done so far at El Moro, I did not miss the granny.

The bike is based off the small El Ciclon. The custom charge is like $300 or so, but Ventana and I are working on getting these things into the shop with no custom charge. I just have to order a few at a time. One big question is weather or not I will be able to get two different top tube lengths right away. I think some taller folks may want a longer version of this thing.

If you keep talking about that sweet but of yours, we will be on the dl. jk

Once the seat is up, it is a very good climbing position for me. I think there will be some pedal strikes with the low bb on steep rocky tech climbing. The front end has to be kept in line at slow speeds or it wants to wander around. I can totally live with these issues to have this bike on the dh.
