Anyone have recommendations? for some reason I want to record my friends crashing into stuff...
. I assume the higher end ones you have to attach to a camcorder of some sort????so not only do you have to get the cam you have to get the camcorder as well? |

I have the hoytech (hoyttech.com) helmet camera system and am fairly happy with it and the customer services is pretty good. You can mount it to pretty much anywhere on your frame or your self provided the cord is long enough. A buddy of mine has the Viosport camera and it works very well as well but with both system's You'll need a camcorder to attach to it. Also if you have a camcorder with a LANC controller it's even that much better so you can remotely stop and start the camera.
I am not too familiar with the SD type or all enclosed cameras but the ones I have seen have been a little on the choppy side and with limited recording time. |

I guy I race against in Fontucky (he may be on here by now) has one of those I believe. He recorded his race but said he only could capture a little more than 50 minutes on it. I think I remember him saying the quality was ok (1 or 2 gig card I forget)
Seen that same think linked a few other times, must be a favorite

http://www.archos.com/ 1 cable DVR records at 640x480 VGA 30 gig capacity Rechargeable battery. whole thing Weighs about 3/4 of a pound. DVR fits in your pocket. Also can record AND play off of your TV, DVD player, VCR and computer. Camera and DVR only cost me about $450. I love mine as if it were my child. |

Here's my youtube page. It's hard to get a real peek at the quality of video the unit shoots since youtube compresses the sh!t out of everything, but at least it will give you an idea. http://www.youtube.com/profile_video...=stinkyrider07 As you can see from a few of my mountain bike vids (I suck), the camera can take a beating and the hard drive stands up to a lot of vibration for the most part. It will still skip if you take a real HARD landing or something. |

![]() That my friend is the trick. the "Action Angle" means everything, BUT on my last ride I actually posted the camera on a 90 degree angle and was SHOCKED at how well it picked up. I still haven't finished editing the video, but this thread just put a fire under my seat. Quote:
