Default Need Help Removing A Swingarm

I am in the process of replacing the rear swingarm that I broke on the loop 2 weeks ago, and I have come to a point where I don't know what to do.

I am trying to remove the old swingarm, and I have removed all of the hardware, but I can't seem to get the pivot behind the BB to disengage. There is a threaded bushing in there that won't budge. I've tried pushing it a bit, but it's stuck solid.

Any ideas how to get the last link off and get on with the repair? Here are some pics.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

looks like you can just thread the bolt halfway in there and tap it with a hammer lightly.

Is the threaded section supposed to come out? If so, try threading in the bolts again and give it a few taps with a hammer.

Thanks guys. That worked, but I had to beat the hell out of it to get the bushing out. It only wanted to exit on the drive side.

All of the pivots are filthy and need a good cleaning before I put it back together. I think I am going to clean the BB while it's out too.

Any recommendations on what type of grease to use? Something waterproof maybe?

That stuff that they use for boat trailers is pretty waterproof. Figure it has to withstand dunks into sea water.

Thanks for all the help and advice. My bike is all back together and in fine working shape. It was nice to clean all of the pivots and links in the rear suspension as well as the BB. My BB spins so much more smoothly now!

I ended up using white lithium grease from Lowes. It was cheap, water repellent (according to the label), and seems to work fine. If I can find some marine grease I wouldn't mind putting that in there, though I wonder how it differs from standard white lithium grease since both are petroleum bases with white lithium solids.

Now I am a huge advocate of taking the the bike apart to clean and re-grease things every few months. It makes such a difference! I am afraid to see what kind of mess inside the headset though...
