Default brake pads rubbing

i accidentally squeezed the front brake lever, now the pads are rubbing to the rotors, i can spin the wheel freely, it would spin a few then to a dead stop. How can i fix this?

its an avid juicy three, hydro. brakes.

note: i took the front tire to load it to my civic coupe 2D, and as i lift the bike, i accidentally squeezed the brake lever.

Did you do this with the wheel out..I'm guessing you did.
Remove your wheel.
Some brakes come with a seperating tool like the Hayes. Use it to spread the pads. Re-install wheel, grab a little brake, release, grab again...should be good to go.
If you do not have this tool, use a smalll boxed end wrench...after removing wheels and pads, apply pressure to piston, making sure not to touch/bend post, repeat with other piston. Re-install pads, wheel , grab brake, release, grab brake release, should be good to go.

*Edit: This is if you have Hydro's and not mech's

I have this problem with my juicy fives, I use a flat head screwdriver to push them apart gently. They still drag a tiny bit but I can live with that.

I have mech disks and whenever I get rubbing, I just spin the wheel and grab the brake hard. Sometimes that's all it takes. I'd try a couple or three times.

But I don't understand how your issue started. Aren't you supposed to squeeze the front brake lever?

Not while the wheel is off the bike. Hydros usually have a self-centering feature and they "learn" where to stop by the contact point. No rotor between the pads means they squeeze all the way together and stay closer than you want.

squeeze em again... and you will have pistons on the floor :O

just push the pistons back into their bores with a flat object.... (spread the pads... pushing the pistons back in)
