Default 29er build up...

Ok, look I can't turn it down. I've been reading reviews on other sites like mad and I think I have to get one, repaint it, and throw some good parts on it. At this frame price ($99.00) I should have a pretty sweet 29er for under $1000.00. I'll keep you posted as new parts are added.

I was thinking about doing the opposite.... Buying their crazy cheap SS 29er and upgrading the parts over time. I may decide that 29er is not for me.

why though? if you get the same disc tabs and it's welded by a qualified person wouldnt it be just the same? the bike appears to have horizontal dropouts so you just have to source out the adjustable variety.

Dang! Station got a nice deal! Makes me wonder why I bought the Marin 26er frame? Oh well, I never ridden a 29er so I can't say. Good luck with the build!

Oh sheesh... Didn't see the title of your post. If I did buy it, it would be more of an urban bike than offroad bike. But that is a good point.

your killing me..........

Why not buy the frame you want and not pay the $$ to have it aligned correctly, welded and then re-painted. IMO too much hassle and $$$

i know i'm just saying...if you're in a pinch and 399 gets you a bike it's not a bad alternative so when you decide to hop it up...you can do that.
