Default back tire

I have gotten a few flats lately on my back wheel. I'm not sure why but i think its because of some sharp edges on my rim Should i file it down? Anyone have any sugestions.

What kind of flats? Do you put enough pressure in the tires?

try slime tubes, inexpensive way to solve it.

I used to have the same problem, rim tape that comes standard on rims usually move around exposing the sharp edges within your rim. *Solved the problem pretty easily by going all the way round the inside of the rim with an adhesive form of rim tape or electric tape.

You did make sure you got the thorn or whatever caused the original flat out of the tire right? I kept having the same problem and discovered that I only removed 1 thorn when I unknowingly ran over 2 originally.

Found 10 thorns in my front tire from that day in Turnbull. Little suckers they are.

Grab your last tube that you had, inflate it and stick it under water to see where the bubbles come out. If it's a little hole(s) it might be a thorn.

I'm sure this is not your problem, but since we're on the subject...The toughest tire I ever dealt with turned out to be a problem where the tire liner ("Mr Toughie") got old and bits of innertube hardened and stuck to it and were sharp enough to punch holes in the new tubes. I stopped using the liners after that and I always change my tube whenever I change my tire. Super unusual problem but of course it started when I was 100 miles from home in Mt Pinos. Most likely culprit is thorn or rim tape missing. Another tip is to use a good floor pump. I used to use one of the little frame pumps and was constantly abusing the presta valves. They are very fragile, so be careful not to bend the little screw-in stem even when using a floor pump.
