Default Finally done

The wait is finally over. Its all done and ready to get dirty. The whole build came in at $242.00. I'm very proud of this build and the fact that this bike will now have a second life instead of being tossed in the trash. There's something I like about the way it looks. Maybe because its not perfect, The paint is slightly faded, Rust spots here and there and thirteen year old dirt still covers parts of the frame.

The bike in stock form was heavy. The stock quill stem, handlebars, seat post were steel. That was 5 pounds right there. By replacing those I shaved off a lot of weight. But its still no light weight at 29 pounds. It almost qualifies for Push a Kona. The weight doesn't bother me to much since my current bike is at 34 pounds.

Before

After

Special Thanks to Dino Brown, 2wheel lee, 1FG rider for the parts that helped me get this bike built. Wasn't for them the bike still wouldn't be done.

Nice bike!

Is the red rear tire the Coleko signature? You other bike is like that, right?

I did not want another hardtail. My first mountain bike was rigid so this will bring back some fun memories.

Went for a test ride early this morning at the fully loop. I started at Rosecrans at the dirt lot. The bike rides really good and climbs better than I thought. There was no problems what so ever and no flex issues on any of the climbs. Even though the bike is 29 pounds it felt super light. The rigid experience was great. I truly enjoyed it the whole ride.

That's cause it's lighter than your current bike. Hell a dh bike would probably feel the same to you.

Glad the new bike rides well.
