more goods rolled in today. I got the battery and charger.
Looks like I've already saved some weight.
Old NightRider NiMH (water bottle style) weighs in @ 1.645 pounds.
New 11.1V 7,200mAh Li-Ion Trial-Tech Plug Water Bottle Battery is 1.320 pounds. Now I kinda wish I would have went for the 9,600mAh delio

I've had some questions via PM's from a few people. Later on today I'll just answer all of them here. I figure others would like the same info.

so true, the more important half of everything is how good something looks .

keep us informed on the build, especially once the housings start getting finished

Well because I'll have to look at it in the daylight too.
Style is subjective. It comes down to different strokes for different folks I guess.

No doubt style counts. If its worth doing, its worth over-doing.

Check out these LEDs. If I'm reading right, it would appear that there are 3 emitters on a normal sized star that puts out 300 lumen per.

Remember Dave, we need pics. Please.

The only problem I'd see with that is getting an optics package to address the 3 emmitters in such a small footprint. Most of the multiple emmitter optics that I have seen are based around the MR11 and MR16 form factors. Still cool, though. It shows how fast this technology is being embraced and tinkered with. That usually always leads to nice advancements for the consumer.

That's not bad. At 3.4 V each, the battery would be a little on the large side, but you could make a nice, compact helmet lamp driven at 1 Amp and get a lot of bang in a single housing.

Optics would be a challenge, but POL makes their 181 series for the Rebels with 3 LEDs on one star. Here's the PDF data sheet. I'm sure Carclo will have something too.
