they're really inconsistent!!!!
I just spent what should have taken me 5 mins to do into a 20 minute ordeal of fighting with the bars. I got a nice pair of Sunline grips for Christmas and i thought i would install them. Easy peasey right? WRONG! The left side of the bar the grips slid on perfectly...the right side however was a bit thicker in overall diameter so i greased that sucker up and proceeded to wrestle with the dam thing until it got seated properly. Dont ask me what the bar looks like now underneath the grip totally all scratched up ![]() One thing about the Sunline grip...they are a bit longer than the average bear soooooo i cant use my flipping Incredibell on my Ephiphany now!!!! boooooooo i'm trying to figure out a way to rig it but it doesnt look possible. Cant do it on the inboard part of the bar because it's too thick so im kind of at a loss right now. that's a wrap for modding the bike tonight.

When grips are that bad you can blow them on with the air compresser and they'll slide right on or if you want to glue them you can boil them first we used to do that with bmx grips makes them softer also

totally agree...but these sunline grips have the set screw ends on the in-board side so there's a machined collar that slides down the bar

thanks...i see some potential options on their site that might work for me...the adjustable "garden hose" clamp looks like it would work for me

oh you are good Coleko! if i could give you 20 thanks i'd do it...that's pretty cool actually to mount it on the steer tube since my stem is occupied with the Garmin i got for xmas
On another note, i have Avid Juicy 7's mounted on my bike...if i can somehow rig my incredibell to that brake lever clamp by sandwiching or something that would be great then i would be within easy reach of my thumb

i got it to work last night... i took the rubbery material that keeps it from spinning out and replaced w/ a thinner material was able to get it just to the right of shifter pod on the left side so all is well again
![]() I agree Jeff, the sunlines are nice, just the right thickness.

Where's the singletrack?
|
I've got a pair and their awesome. I bought the thicker ones...feels just right. One thing though, you have to be careful of not over-tightening the end screws. They screw right into your bar. Not a problem if they are aluminum but if carbon, don’t torque too much. They’re a different set-up than the conventional lock-on grips.
