Default Busted Camelbak Bladder...any suggestions?

Sorry if this has come up before (couldn't find a previous thread mentioning it) but...

my Camelbak bladder fell off the counter and a small split (1/8") formed on the seam around the hose (not the main seam of the bag itself).

Anyone know if/how this can be fixed. I'm trying to be more environmentally conscious lately and would rather salvage it than throw it away (if it can be done).

Thanks!

not likely...but give customer care a call I hear their customer service is exemplary then you can recycle it?

Camelbak has a lifetime warranty on their bladders against leakage at the seams I believe. I'd give them a call.

I have a small leak on an older bladder and put a tube patch on it and it's worked for years. 1/8" may be too much...but worth a shot

I thought of that but also considered that there might be chemicals in the adhesive that I don't want to be ingesting (hey, I teach chem, what can I say)

Thanks for the suggestion though Kevin!

I have used Krazyglue on Camelbak hose with success. You can also try Gorilla glue, with the only issue being the glue leaving a large footprint.

Try a vinyl patch kit, like for pool repair.

If none of the previous suggestions work, tell Dan to buy you a new one.

+1 for tube patches and +1 for super glue of the CA variety. I have a patch with both of those on my bladder and they've held fine for over a year now

if their CS department is no help, i second the vote for clear silicone sealant. look for a neutral cure (oxime) and you will be fine as far as extractable chemicals go. I think GE markets it as silicone sealant II.

Camelback is very good about replacements. Just give them a call, they'll tell you where to send it or you can check their website and they will replace it no questions asked. I recently send one back that was leaking and got the replacement in a few days.
