Default looking for a *light* XC frame

something to use primarily for racing, and recreational/less technical downhill stuff. Due to this, I don't see myself spending as much as my last build thank god

-29er not out of the question, but will be geared.
-HT preferred

Might be transferring some of the lighter stuff from my current bike over to the new one and this is just an idea for now looking forward to the next race season coming up here shortly

That Kona King deal, if it's still going, may be a hot ticket. It's frame only. Because it's scandium it's a little lighter.

If that doesn't work out.. there's always the BS Unobtanium frame.

jk.

I heard that QBP was blowing out Salsa Dos Niner frames.. and there were a few Niner frames recently on sale at different places. If you are looking solely for light weight, check out the Air9.

that's tempting, though i'd get the 18.5 version

the Salsa's were where I started at and may end up at, but actually would like to spend less on the frame itself

Hardtail preferred

edit: the 08 version of that azonic linked above can be found at Jenson for $1 more, and slightly lighter...hmm

yeah for $100 it'd be nice and a lot less than I'm expecting to spend, but can't find a weight on it

Size and price? I have a 2003ish Sycip frame that I've been looking to unload for some time. As it stands, it's in the middle of a singlespeed build.

It's a size large, approx 23.5 e.t.t.

Damn, too bad you can't rock a 16". My frame I'm selling weighed 22lbs built up with a budget build. You could easily save another lb or two.

Well Jenson just dropped $20 bucks off their steel hardtails. Won't be super light though.

David didn't I see you riding at Mt. Sac on a Kona Hardtail? No love for the Kona anymore.
