Default I wanted to be a Homer ...

... but i got distracted:

Was pretty much set on getting myself an RFX, but in the parking lot/curb huck taste test, the Pitch just felt so much nicer to me. Plus, with my Lyrik, it gives me exactly the geo i was looking for to replace my fallen Joker (same slack head angle, but lower BB height). Bonus is that it's a quite a bit less spendy than the Turner. The shakedown ride on the Loop tonight was encouraging. Still have some minor adjustments to make, but this is by far the plushest bike i've ever owned. So, without further ado, here's the finished product:

Congratulations!!!
Sweet looking ride. How much rear travel does it have, and what head angle did the fork put you at?
Bottom bracket doesn't look too low..14"?

For a second there, I had to look twice. That's what MY bike looks like! You have the nicer fork though. Mine is the same color and even has the same color hubs. Looks like I'm going to have to get a different colored bashguard although the black does look good. Congrats!

A smidge less, but it's significantly lower than my previous bike. It's quite low with the spec fork, a Pike. My Lyrik, obviously, raises it. Head angle comes out to 66.5. Six inches of travel.

Nice!! I kind of wish they would've offered slightly nicer build kits. It seems like basically a scaled down (e.g. the rear end isn't quite as beefy) version of the old style Enduro (from 06 and back). I'm glad they're still offering something similar though (without the super d geo, etc.).

You didn't go for the electric green??

Good choice! Very similar geometry to an Enduro SL, but you don't have to worry about the proprietary Specialized forks/shocks.

66.5º HA, under 14" BB, that sounds like a very fun bike!

I am sooo Happy for you!
You made a wonderful choice

My opinion: The perfect frame for you is hanging from the rafters of a local shop. I "SUPPOSE" the new bike is acceptable! At least we got you riding again! The first test...... THE SAN GABRIEL'S! You choose the trail!

Congrats Homie!

Don't worry; being a Homer is a lot of hard work - you wouldn't like it. What with putting bikes on couches for pictures all the time, worshiping at DT's feet on emptybeer, and the blood war with Ellsworth owners, there is no time to actually ride your Turner. No, you're better off with the Big S.

Sweet bike!

Nice bike! Too bad about your Joker, but now you are in the Specialized camp! You did good by not getting the Enduro SL, because people have had problems with the e150 fork (like me). Since my air cartridge change it's been great, but I kinda wish I could have bought a complete Enduro SL but without the Spesh fork/shock. Now with the Pitch, you can! Good stuff

We all need to hit up El Prieto again soon. Maybe this Sunday???

Sweet bike!
Don’t forget the custom head badge and rockers, I also hear you need two Turners to be a Homer.

What’s sad, I think I qualify

Great choice - that is one sweet bike!!! i love my spesh bikes and I'm sure you will too.

I was never good with flow charts - reason why a few years ago I had to give up trying to be a homer

have a fantastic weekend!

Great bike Toby...but your kool-aid is getting warm. I've always been fond of Spevialized bikes. I've had a few and will likely have a few more. I've been reading about the Pitch for a while and now I'll get to see/hear first hand what people think. I really loved my FSR. I just hope Specialized gets out of the shock business. So far I'm not impressed. The Brain is working but still has a lot of issues.

I'm doing the Fully Loop swap meet and ride this Sunday, but we definitely need to hook up a San Gabes ride sometime soon. Mt. Lowe, anyone?
