its interesting to see how different the beam patterns are, IMO i think the Trinewt has the best fill up close and still manages to get good range.. that lupine wilma is just insanely bright

The trinewt seems like the best lighting.

Too bad they couldn't compare some other top output LEDs like the DiNotto 600L 600 lumen.
A lesser comparison was done by a shop http://eddys.com/page.cfm?pageID=493 |

Wish they'd included the MiNewt X2 Dual. Just got one, and I'm impressed, plus it's cool to have two tiny, bright lights where you can either spread the beams or combine them for even more intensity. For only a few bucks more than the single version, it seems like a no-brainer to me.

The TriNewt kills the Wilma in the low setting. It appeared to me that they were pretty equal in the high setting. Burn time is just about the same, but the Wilma is almost $200 more than even the wireless Tri Newt.

I LOVE MY TRINEWT!!!
The overall light output..................... ![]() The color temperature of the LED is..... ![]() Burn time has been very good! Beautifully covers the trail with light. No dark spots. No rings. The beam is not too narrow... Not too broad. May have a hot spot (i.e. overly bright spot) though. Overall.... The Trinewt is an exceptional light!

true, but the low setting for the Wilma is only 1W and will run for 42 hours.. 6.5 hours for the 9 w setting and 4 hours at the full 15w power setting. Wilma costs more, but has almost twice the lumens, is lighter and runs longer at every setting...
I'm too much of a cheap ass to justify spending the kind of loot on a light, but it is a badass light for sure.

cool little shootout! I'm a huge fan of the Lupine..their lights are top notch and they don't cut any corners when it comes to their light systems. I've been running their HID Edison for a while and should be getting my Betty tomorrow! Can't wait.

There's a thread over at empty beer with some pretty OK video reviews. It compliments the Bike Mag article. The good stuff starts on page 5
http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?p=3689411 -There. I've done it. I said something good about MTBR. |
